Our Team

The Europe team is comprised of experienced professionals based in London. Here is a listing of all our senior team members.

Pat Naccarato

Managing Director, Head of Active Equities Europe

Pat heads the team responsible for delivering alpha through active security selection of public, and soon to be public, equity investments in Europe.

Pat has managed public equity portfolios across a variety of regions across the world for pension funds, mutual funds and private client assets. Prior to joining CPP Investments in 2009, he was a Vice President and Portfolio Manager at Phillips Hager and North Investment Management (now RBC) and TAL Investment Management (now CIBC).

Pat holds an Honors Bachelor of Mathematics from the University of Waterloo and an MBA from Wilfrid Laurier University, and is a CFA Charterholder.

Pat currently serves on the board of Viking Cruise Holdings Ltd.

Tanya Messinger

Managing Director, Active Equities Europe

Tanya leads the team responsible for investment across the EMEA Consumer domain.

Tanya joined CPP Investments in 2010 and has invested globally, with experience as both a generalist and sector specialist. Originally focused on North American Consumer equities, Tanya expanded coverage across Europe and Emerging Markets. In 2014 Tanya moved to London to focus on EMEA equities as a generalist. Prior to joining CPP Investments, Tanya began her career at RBC Capital Markets in equity research covering North American special situations across the Industrial and Consumer sectors.

Tanya holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honors) degree from the University of British Columbia and a Leslie Wong Fellowship from UBC’s distinguished Portfolio Management Foundation. Tanya is a Chartered Financial Analyst and was awarded the Financial News’ Rising Stars of Asset Management in Europe: Top 25 under 40.

Henrik Olsson

Managing Director, Active Equities Europe

Henrik is responsible for the European Decarbonization domain which includes public equity companies exposed to rapidly changing regulation around carbon and climate change in Europe – in particular, the EU Taxonomy and European Emissions Trading Scheme. This domain crosses a range of sectors, including capital goods, materials, utilities and automotive. Henrik is also the interim head of the European Technology Media Telecom domain.

He joined CPPIB in 2014, focusing on publicly listed equities in Europe. Henrik has long experience in European public equities, both as a generalist and a sector specialist, and both on the buy-side investing in long-short strategies at Sloane Robinson and Theorema Asset Management, as well as on the sell-side at investment banks Cazenove and ABG Sundal Collier.

Henrik holds a BSc in Finance as well as a Master of Laws from the University of Lund and a Master of Laws (LLM) from the University of London.

Simon Price

Managing Director, Active Equities Europe

Simon will be leading coverage of the European Financials domain. While his domain is yet to be defined, it will likely span companies across multiple sub-sectors including Banks, Insurance, FinTech, Asset Managers and Investment Banks.

Simon brings 24 years experience in the financials sector. In his first 11 years, Simon worked on the sell-side as a bank analyst covering UK and emerging European banks. This was followed by 13 years as a portfolio manager and equity long-short manager with coverage across global financials.  Simon also brings a track record of strong performance including co-manager of TT’s Long-Short Financials Fund EuroHedge Global Equity Fund of the Year 2008.

Simon holds a BA in Mathematics and Philosophy from Oxford University and a M.Litt Logic and Metaphysics from St. Andrews University.
