From: Software Developer, RBC Capital Markets

To: Senior Developer/Data Engineer, Total Project Management Technologies in Toronto

CPP Investments History:

I started at CPP Investments in 2015 as an intern Developer/Analyst; then, after graduation, I continued as a developer in the rotational analyst program between June 2016 and November 2017. I re-started in July 2018 as a Senior Developer/Data Engineer.

What brought me back to CPP Investments:

From the second I stepped into the office as an intern, the environment at CPP Investments felt different. There is an incredibly supportive and agile culture here. With how quickly technology is evolving, we are always learning new skills and adapting to change. My manager (who is the same manager I had when I was an intern), along with our CTO, leads the way in learning and adopting new technology.

I think people also have a misconception that pension funds are slow-moving, but we are a very nimble organization.

Something that might surprise some colleagues:

I’ve been playing violin since I was four years old. I used to volunteer and play at senior homes or community centres; now I am playing with my local orchestras on weekends.
