Industry History:
I have been working with thematic investing for more than 20 years, and I never cease to be fascinated by how structural drivers can change the competitive landscape for companies. The current point in time is particularly interesting, as we are seeing these structural drivers simultaneously having strong effects on almost all industries. Ultimately it creates an increased polarization between winners and losers, creating good opportunities for investment returns.
What brought you to CPP Investments?
CPP Investments is a truly unique organisation with strong expertise across asset classes and a presence in multiple geographical locations, providing a strong platform for developing thematic investment research through knowledge sharing. In addition to this, the long investment horizon of the fund, makes it possible to invest long term in the structural winners to the benefit of Canadian beneficiaries. So CPP Investments is to me the perfect place to continue working with my passion for thematic investing.
