Analyst positions across the organization (specific programs are highlighted below) are available to students from all academic backgrounds. Roles are typically recruited a year in advance, with the majority posted in August.

CPP Investments values diversity of thought and background and believes building diverse teams fosters better investment decisions. One way we increase diversity of thought by is providing rotational programs allowing students to work within different departments and expand their networks.

Fundamental Investments Rotational Program

Eligibility: Students in their final year of study looking for full-time opportunities. Bachelor and advanced degree students are welcome to apply.

Program Type: Full-Time

Positions are advertised: August (One year prior to start)

CPP Investments is invested in helping you build a career that matters. The Fundamental Investments Rotational Program gives recent graduates a variety of experiences during their first two years at CPP Investments, providing early exposure and meaningful, hands-on work. The program goes beyond technical components of investing to include formal training, apprenticeship, mentoring and meaningful performance management. Learning and growth is vital to development of future employees, and it’s our goal to provide both formal and informal opportunities to help you gain the full range of skills for an investment role at CPP Investments.

CPP Investments’ LAUNCH program for new graduates and Training the Street are designed to help participants learn the different investment strategies, technical requirements and thought processes needed to become a sound investor. Program participants play active roles in their own development. You will be encouraged to ask questions, be engaged and pursue learning opportunities.

Toronto Fundamental Investments Rotational Program 

Participants complete three different eight-month rotations. Rotations will be through a minimum of two of these investment departments: Private EquityReal AssetsCredit Investments and Active Equities. After completion, decisions on permanent placements will be made.

Hong Kong Fundamental Investments Rotational Program

Our Hong Kong Office provides a rotational program in which you will move between several departments: Private Equity and Active Equities.

Finance, Analytics & Risk Rotational Program

Eligibility: Students in their final year of study looking for full-time opportunities. Bachelor and advanced degree students are welcome to apply.

Program Type: Full-Time

Positions are advertised: August (One year prior to start)

Opportunities are available for graduating students in our Finance, Analytics & Risk department under two programs: CPA and a Rotational Analyst Program.

Finance, Analytics & Risk provides analytics, sets appropriate governance and controls, and delivers external financial reporting and relevant management information to enable CPP Investments to make informed decisions. This group maintains an independent view of the CPP Fund and provides management with insights on portfolio valuation, performance, and investment risk.

Rotational Analyst Program

Analysts will participate in an initial two-year rotational program across three groups for eight months each. This provides broad exposure to multiple areas of our business and operations.  After successfully completing  three rotations, you will be placed full-time within a department.

CPA Rotational Analyst Program

CPP Investments is a CPA Ontario approved certificated organization. Analysts will experience two rotations over a three-year period that provides sufficient experience to gain your CPA designation. Rotations are assigned to help you achieve key competency development areas and business needs.

Developer Rotational Program

Eligibility: Students in their final year of study looking for full-time opportunities. Bachelor and advanced degree students are welcome to apply.

Program Type: Full-Time

Technology and Data provides global services for all of CPP Investments’ investment and core services groups, including delivery and integration of business applications, 24/7 global technology operations infrastructure, IT architecture, and engineering and proactive management of technology budgets, resources and performance indicators.

Graduating students start their career as a Developer and placements are based on business needs – providing you with a breadth of experiences across various departments. During your first year, you will complete two six-month rotations with the following departments:

Investment Systems: Business technology experts focused on enabling investment teams and providing support for Trading, Capital Markets, Alternative Investments and Risk teams.

Enterprise Systems: The backbone to the investment department systems, processes and functions implements applications that enable such functions from operations, finance and core services to reporting and analytics.

Become an active participant with a dynamic team impacting business collaboration while developing and maintaining applications starting on Day One.
