Senior Management Team

John Graham

President & Chief Executive Officer

John was appointed President & CEO in February 2021 and is responsible for leading CPP Investments and its investment activities.

John joined CPP Investments in 2008 and has worked in both the Total Portfolio Management group (now Total Fund Management) and in Private Investments. John took on leadership of Principal Credit Investments in 2015 as Managing Director and Global Head of the group. In 2018, he was appointed as Senior Managing Director & Global Head of Credit Investments, where he was responsible for leading credit investments globally.

Prior to joining CPP Investments, John spent nine years at Xerox Innovation Group in research and strategy roles.

John holds an MBA from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto and a PhD from the University of Western Ontario. He is a CFA charterholder.

Maximilian Biagosch

Senior Managing Director, Global Head of Real Assets & Head of Europe

Maximilian leads the Real Assets department, which invests globally across commercial real estate, the energy chain, and infrastructure. He also provides regional leadership in Europe.

He joined CPP Investments in 2015 and has held various senior leadership roles, including as Head of Direct Private Equity group within the Private Equity department, and Head of Portfolio Value Creation, a group that supports management teams of individual investments to achieve full value potential.

Prior to joining CPP Investments, Maximilian spent more than seven years at Permira Advisers LLP, focusing on private equity transactions, and was most recently responsible for the firm’s global capital markets activities. Before that, he was an investment banker for Deutsche Bank and BNP Paribas in London.

Maximilian holds a Master of Laws (LLM) from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität Munich.

He currently serves on the boards of Petco and BAI Communications.

Edwin D. Cass

Senior Managing Director & Chief Investment Officer

As CPP Investments’ Chief Investment Officer, Ed works closely with the CEO, the Chief Financial Officer, Chief Risk Officer, and Investment Department leaders to strengthen the organization’s investment governance with the aim of generating greater performance gains.

He joined CPP Investments in 2008, initially heading the Global Capital Markets group during the financial crisis. He subsequently headed the Global Corporate Securities group and then the Global Tactical Asset Allocation team, all within the Public Market Investments department. Ed served as Chief Investment Strategist and Head of Total Portfolio Management from 2014 to 2017 and was most recently the Global Head of Real Assets.

With over 25 years of investment experience, Ed previously held senior positions at Fortress Management Group, Deutsche Bank Canada and TD Securities.

Ed holds a BS (Hons) in Theoretical Physics from Queen’s University and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from York University’s Osgoode Hall Law School.

Andrew Edgell

Senior Managing Director & Global Head of Credit Investments

Andrew leads the global Credit Investments department, which manages CPP Investments’ credit exposures across the spectrum, including term loans, investment-grade and high-yield bonds, mezzanine lending, structured products and other solutions for issuers across corporate, real estate and consumer sectors.

Previously Andrew led the Americas Structured Credit and Financials team where he was responsible for investments in sub-investment grade structured credit and debt capital solutions for financial institutions, as well as the intellectual property investment strategy. He has invested across industries and asset classes, including corporate and structured credit opportunities, and has represented us as a director on multiple boards.

Prior to joining CPP Investments in 2008, Andrew worked for Fortress Investment Group investing in credit opportunities. He started his career with KPMG on the Financial Institutions industry team, followed by eight years in the Corporate Finance group advising mid-market companies on M&A and financings.

Andrew holds a Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University. He is a Chartered Professional Accountant and Chartered Business Valuator.

Kristina Fanjoy

Senior Managing Director & Chief Financial Officer

As Chief Financial Officer, Kristina leads our global finance functions including financial policy, controls and reporting, business and financial planning, valuations, tax, structure management, and performance reporting and analytics.

Kristina joined CPP Investments in 2010 and has contributed to the extension of the organization’s finance capabilities, including building and leading various functions, most recently serving as Head of Finance.

Prior to joining CPP Investments, Kristina grew a career at KPMG across audit, compliance and advisory disciplines, culminating in a practice delivering international tax advice to global organizations in a variety of sectors.

She is a Chartered Professional Accountant and earned a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Toronto.

Frank Ieraci

Senior Managing Director & Global Head of Active Equities and Investment Science

Frank is the Senior Managing Director and Global Head of Active Equities and Investment Science at CPP Investments. Active Equities’ mandate is to deliver alpha in the global public equity markets through fundamental security selection. Frank also leads Investment Science, a fund-wide strategy to enhance decision-making through the use of novel forms of data and innovative analytical techniques.

Frank joined CPP Investments in 2007 and has held various senior leadership roles, including Head of Active Fundamental Equities, where he was responsible for managing a concentrated portfolio of equity investments and leading a team of sector specialists; and most recently Managing Director, Head of Research and Portfolio Strategy, leading data-driven research efforts and portfolio design and construction for Active Equities.

Prior to joining CPP Investments, Frank was a Portfolio Manager responsible for public equity investments in the Media & Communications industry for Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan. Prior to that, he was an investment banker for BMO in the M&A group.

Frank holds a BA in Economics and Management Science from Toronto Metropolitan University, and an Masters in Financial Economics from the University of Toronto. He is a CFA charterholder, and holds an ICD.D Director designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors.

Manroop Jhooty

Senior Managing Director & Head of Total Fund Management

As Head of Total Fund Management, Manroop leads the balancing and financing portfolio, which is invested in global public securities, as well as balance sheet management, tactical positioning, trading and portfolio design.

Manroop joined CPP Investments in 2019 and was previously Managing Director, Head of Exposure, Leverage and Liquidity Management. This team combines the balancing-portfolio process and balance-sheet management functions in an integrated group responsible for the management and delivery of the Fund’s exposures, leverage and liquidity. Before that, he was Managing Director, Head of Balancing & Collateral.

Prior to joining CPP Investments, he held various fixed income and credit trading roles with Bank of America Merrill Lynch. He holds a BCom from McMaster University and an MSc from the London School of Economics.

Suyi Kim

Senior Managing Director & Global Head of Private Equity

Suyi leads CPP Investments’ Private Equity program globally, including teams dedicated to investments in Direct Private Equity, Private Equity Asia, Private Equity Funds and Secondaries.

Suyi was most recently Senior Managing Director & Head of Asia Pacific overseeing CPP Investment’s investment activities in Asia Pacific across all investment programs including public equity, private equity, real estate, infrastructure, and credit. Suyi joined CPP Investments in 2007 and established our first international office in Hong Kong. She oversaw the private equity business in Asia as Head of Private Equity Asia until early 2016.

Suyi has over 20 years of investment experience. Prior to joining CPP Investments, she worked at The Carlyle Group and Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan for private equity investments in Asia as well as globally. Before her investing career, Suyi also worked at McKinsey & Co. and PricewaterhouseCoopers in various Asian countries. Suyi holds a Master of Business Administration from Stanford University and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Seoul National University. She is a Certified Public Accountant.

She currently serves on the board of directors of Waymo, an autonomous driving technology company and subsidiary of Alphabet Inc., as well as JA Korea, the Korean branch of Junior Achievement. She is also a Governing Council Member of the McKinsey Center for CEO Excellence.  She previously sat on the board of Hong Kong Broadband Network (“HKBN”), a Hong Kong listed Internet, Communication & Tele-communication company, Homeplus, the second largest retailer in South Korea and Global Private Capital Association (ex “EMPEA”). Suyi was also on the Products Advisory Committee of the Securities & Futures Commission of Hong Kong.

Michel Leduc

Senior Managing Director & Global Head of Public Affairs and Communications

Michel leads the team responsible for the organization’s overall communications program and global public affairs, including relationships with domestic and foreign governments, media and other diverse stakeholder groups.

Michel joined CPP Investments in 2011 and oversees reputation management strategy, positioning its global capabilities to support long-term investment and diversification goals, while upholding the mandate and governance structure. A senior communications professional, Michel has 25 years of experience in the areas of public affairs, government relations, corporate communications, social responsibility and branding.

Previously, he was most recently Vice President, Public and Corporate Affairs at Sun Life Financial where he oversaw the company’s global public affairs, corporate communications and brand-management functions. He has also held positions at the Canadian Bankers Association and the Canadian Payments Association. Michel also recently served on the Board of Directors of the Canada China Business Council, Canada-India Business Council and the Toronto Financial Services Alliance.

Michel holds a BA in Law from Carleton University.

Geoffrey Rubin

Senior Managing Director, One Fund Strategist

Geoffrey heads our One Fund Strategy Group (OFSG), which reports to the CEO and helps optimize strategy throughout the organization by identifying priorities for the Fund. The OFSG works with leaders across the firm to prioritize and develop specific investment and operational strategies while helping build a unified team culture to invest as One Fund.

Before taking on this role, Geoffrey was Senior Managing Director & Chief Investment Strategist, responsible for designing and implementing the Fund’s long-term investment strategy. He has also helped shape the growth and evolution of the Total Fund Management department after joining CPP Investments in 2011.

Previously, Geoffrey held finance roles with Fannie Mae and Capital One Financial where he managed the global balance sheet. He also ran a consulting practice and was Adjunct Professor at American University’s Kogod School of Business in Washington, D.C., and holds a BA in Economics from the University of Virginia, and a PhD in Economics from Princeton University.

Geoffrey serves on the Board of Directors of Antares Capital.

Priti Singh

Senior Managing Director & Global Head of Capital Markets and Factor Investing

Priti leads our global Capital Markets and Factor Investing department, which is comprised of External Portfolio Management, Systematic Strategies Group, Investment Engineering & Analytics and Strategy, Risk & Operations groups. She is the Chair of the Inclusion and Diversity Leadership Council.

Before this appointment she was Managing Director and Head of External Portfolio Management, responsible for managing a global portfolio of externally managed funds that complement and enhance our internal public market investment programs.

Prior to joining CPP Investments in 2008, Priti worked for over eight years in the financial services and telecommunication industries.

Priti holds an MBA from the Rotman School of Management of the University of Toronto and an MS in Physics from the University of Waterloo.

She currently serves on the Board of Trustees for the Standards Board for Alternative Investments.

Mary Sullivan

Senior Managing Director & Chief Talent Officer

Mary leads our global Human Resources team.

A seasoned executive with over 25 years of Human Resources experience, she joined CPP Investments in 2015 and is responsible for talent acquisition, organizational development, international mobility, compensation and benefits, facilities and office services, and inclusion and diversity.

Prior to joining CPP Investments, Mary was Senior Vice President at Holt, Renfrew & Co. where she was responsible for their Human Resources function. Prior to that she was Senior Vice President, Corporate Human Resources at Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. She also spent seven years as the Senior Vice President of Human Resources at IMAX Corporation.

Mary holds a BA in Administrative and Commercial Studies from the University of Western Ontario and an MBA from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto.

Agus Tandiono

Senior Managing Director, Head of Asia Pacific & Active Equities Asia

As a member of Senior Management Team and Head of Asia Pacific,  Agus leads the regional business development and growth of CPP Investments across Hong Kong, Mumbai and Sydney offices.  He is a member of CPP Investments’ Portfolio Execution Committee and Investment Strategy and Risk Committee.

In his dual role as Head of Active Equities Asia, he leads a team of investment professionals that performs fundamental research on public equities, or soon-to-be public equities, and invests in quality companies throughout Asia.

Agus has more than 25 years of investment experience in Asia Pacific. Prior to joining CPP Investments in January 2014, he spent a total of five years at Citadel (Asia) as Head of Asia Equity managing the Asia Equities Long Short portfolio, three years at Income Partners as Managing Partner and ten years at Fidelity Investments (HK) managing various sectors and country funds.

He holds an MBA from Booth Graduate School of Business, University of Chicago, and a BBA from University of San Diego. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Agus currently serves on the board of directors of Hong Kong Broadband Network (“HKBN”), a Hong Kong listed telecommunication company.

Patrice Walch-Watson

Senior Managing Director, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary

Patrice leads our global legal, compliance and corporate secretarial functions.

She is a seasoned business lawyer and advisor with deep experience in transactions, regulation, corporate governance and providing strategic counsel.

Prior to joining CPP Investments in 2015, Patrice spent over 22 years as a corporate lawyer in private practice at Torys LLP, a highly respected cross-border law firm, advising some of Canada’s largest public, private and government businesses in strategic mergers and acquisitions, financing and governance matters. In addition to being a practicing partner, she served on Torys’ executive management committee for several years.

Patrice holds a BA (Hons) from Wilfrid Laurier University and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from Queen’s University. She is a member of the Law Society of Ontario.

Patrice is an active member of the Advisory Council to the Dean of Queen’s University Law School.

Kristen Walters

Senior Managing Director & Chief Risk Officer

As Chief Risk Officer, Kristen leads our global risk management functions. This includes oversight of the Fund’s long-term strategy to effectively incorporate risk perspectives into all investment processes to improve decision making. This also includes identifying and implementing critical research, standards and policies related to investment, climate, market, credit, enterprise, liquidity & leverage, and operational risks.

Kristen joined CPP Investments in 2023. Previously, she was Chief Risk Officer at global asset management company Natixis Investment Managers where she was responsible for investment and enterprise risk management across approximately US$1.4 trillion in assets under management held through many asset classes. Prior to this role, Walters also held leadership roles in risk management at other large and international asset managers.

She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from University of Massachusetts at Amherst and a Master of Business Administration degree from Babson College. She is an active member of the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP).

Jon Webster

Senior Managing Director & Chief Operating Officer

Jon leads the organization’s technology, data, investment operations, security, and corporate services functions. Together, under his leadership, they are responsible for enabling our investment strategies and supporting the Fund’s day-to-day operations.

Prior to joining CPP Investments in 2023, Jon was a Managing Director and Partner at the Boston Consulting Group where he was a member of the Financial Institutions and Technology Advantage practices, specializing in digital and technology-enabled transformations.

He previously held leadership roles at McKinsey & Company and Lloyds Banking where he served as the Chief Information Officer for Digital and Transformation and Chief Operating Officer for the bank’s digital division.

Jon holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Mathematics and Ph.D., Mathematics from Loughborough University in England.
